Terms of Service

The agreement between you and IdeaTome, in plain language where we could manage it. The short version: you own what you make, you are responsible for what you publish, and every price is shown before you pay it.

Effective and last updated 27 September 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Avnish Rai, an individual resident in India who operates IdeaTome at ideatome.com (“IdeaTome”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of our website, the web application at dashboard.ideatome.com, and every related service (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. Who can use IdeaTome

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under the law that applies to you. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.

3. Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider using an email address or a supported social login. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your account. One account is for one person; accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.

Give us accurate information and keep your email address current — it is how we reach you about your account, your purchases and changes to these Terms. Tell us at once at support@ideatome.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. What the Service does

IdeaTome uses artificial intelligence to turn an idea you provide into a book: an outline, chapters, a cover, and typeset files (PDF, print-ready PDF, EPUB and DOCX), as well as coloring books. Generation is performed by third-party AI models on your instructions.

We work continuously to improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. We do not promise that any particular feature, format, model or output will remain available, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

5. Credits

Generating content uses credits. The number of credits an action costs is shown to you before you confirm it — for example, writing is priced by length (one credit per 800 words), a book’s summary and plan by its chapter count, a coloring book by its page count, and a new cover costs 5 credits. A book is paid in stages, each when you approve it, and credits are deducted when you confirm.

  • New accounts receive 20 free credits once. Free credits have no cash value.
  • Paid plans add a monthly credit allowance at the start of each billing period. Unused credits do not roll over: at renewal your balance is reset to the new allowance.
  • If a generation fails for reasons on our side, the credits it used are returned to your balance automatically.
  • Credits are not money, cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or sold, and end when your account is closed.

6. Plans, prices and payment

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, priced in US dollars and billed in advance through our payment provider, which processes your card details — we never see or store your full card number. Your plan renews automatically each month until you cancel. Applicable taxes may be added according to where you live.

We may change plan prices or allowances. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change affects your subscription, and the change applies from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not agree, cancel before it takes effect.

Downloading your books (PDF, print PDF, EPUB and DOCX) is included in paid plans. On the free plan you can read finished books inside the application.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, after which your account returns to the free plan and your books remain in your library. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Your content and who owns it

“Your Content” means what you give us — ideas, instructions, themes and edits — and the books, chapters, covers, pages and files generated for you. As between you and us, you own Your Content, to the extent the law allows ownership of AI-assisted material. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you — for example, to send your idea to an AI model, store your book, and produce your downloads. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not publish it. You confirm you have the rights to anything you submit and that submitting it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

9. AI-generated content: your responsibility

Output is produced automatically. It can contain factual errors, outdated or invented information, and passages that resemble existing works; similar output may be generated for other users. It is not professional advice — medical, legal, financial or otherwise.

Before you publish, sell or rely on anything generated, you are responsible for reviewing and editing it, checking its facts, and making sure it does not infringe anyone’s rights. Publishing platforms, including Amazon KDP, may require you to disclose that content is AI-generated; complying with their rules is your responsibility.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create, upload or distribute content that:

  • is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or incites violence;
  • sexualises minors in any way, or is sexually explicit;
  • infringes copyright, trademark or other rights of others;
  • impersonates a person or misrepresents your affiliation with anyone;
  • is designed to deceive, such as fake reviews, spam or disinformation campaigns.

And you agree not to:

  • circumvent credits, rate limits, payment or security measures, or access another user’s account or data;
  • scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or disrupt the Service, or use automated means to create accounts;
  • resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission;
  • use the Service in breach of the usage policies of the AI providers it relies on.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service — its software, design, typesetting templates, text and the IdeaTome name and logo — belongs to us and is protected by law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

12. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including our authentication provider, payment provider, cloud hosting and AI model providers. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct beyond our obligations in these Terms. The processors we use are listed in our Privacy Policy.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used fraudulently, creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or is the subject of a payment dispute. A suspended account can still sign in and read its library but cannot generate, rewrite or download. Where appropriate and lawful we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated content will be accurate, original, fit for publication or accepted by any publishing platform.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or wilful misconduct.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from Your Content, your publication or sale of it, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to us at support@ideatome.com so we can try to resolve the matter informally; we will respond within 15 days.

If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, the courts of India having jurisdiction over the place where the operator resides will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service and the law change. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the application at least 15 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Contact and grievances
